Job Description 

Events and Sponsorship Officer 

  • Salary: £26k - £30k  
  • Benefits: Contributory company pension scheme (applicable on completion of the probationary period), Annual discretionary performance bonus 
  • Employment type: Full Time, 9am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am – 4pm on Friday.  
  • 1-hour lunch each day  
  • Holidays: 23 days plus a compulsory Christmas closure 
  • Reports to: Managing Director  
  • Based at: the Commercial Interiors UK Office in Flackwell Heath 

Blended working is possible on completion of probationary period, 3 office-based days minimum. 

The role of Events & Sponsorship Officer 

The purpose of the role is to plan and manage the organization’s events, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and corporate partners to promote event and sponsorship opportunities. Additionally, it focuses on maximizing delegate attendance and ensuring the events program aligns with the overall strategic goals of Commercial Interiors UK. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the day-to-day planning and administration of national and regional events, ensuring all event-related tasks are completed. 
  • Work closely with the Marketing & Communications team to create content to promote event and sponsorship opportunities and increase delegate attendance. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with event venues, suppliers, and exhibitors, using negotiation skills to develop new customers and partners. 
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue from previous national events and monitor progress in relation to event targets and budgets. 
  • Provide on-the-day support during events to ensure smooth running of all event activities. 
  • Ensure all post-event communications and activities are completed. 
  • Promote exhibitor, advertising, and sponsorship packages for our exhibitions, conferences, and communications. 
  • Provide tailored sponsorship and event packages and contracts to suppliers. 
  • Manage Commercial Partnership contacts, maintaining and building upon the relationships with partners throughout the year. 
  • Monitor Commercial Partnership activities and ensure all planned activities are completed successfully and according to individual agreements. 
  • Answer incoming sales calls and inquiries. 
  • Keep up to date with the sector and the needs of CIUK membership. 
  • Build on and develop our membership support offering to identify areas where commercial relationships can be formed with existing members. 
  • Develop new commercial leads. 

Essential: 

  • Experience within a partnerships/account management or events background. 
  • Experience within sales of conferences, summits, or similar events. 
  • Experience within Sponsorship and/or Delegate sales. 
  • Experience generating new business and ensuring repeat business from key accounts. 
  • Experience of delivering first rate customer / client service 
  • A keen attention to detail 
  • A proactive approach and ability to take the initiative. 
  • Ability to progress multiple initiatives and manage personal workload. 
  • Ability to negotiate. 
  • Self-starter and conscientious 
  • Excellent communication, including written and verbal skills. 
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to deal with a varied and often demanding workload. 
  • Strong IT skills - Office/Word/Excel 
  • Presentable, outgoing, and socially confident
