An Introduction to Regenerative Architecture

The focus of this CPD is to introduce the audience to Regenerative Architecture. First Regenerative Design is explored as a whole, framed as an evolution of Sustainable Design, with reference to systems thinking and the circular economy. An exploration of Regenerative Architecture follows, supported by a selection of case studies and references to biomimicry, in terms of material, structural and energy efficiency, and carbon storage. By the end of the seminar, you should have a greater understanding of:
  • How 'sustainable architecture' is evolving
  • What is meant by 'regenerative design'
  • The components of 'regenerative architecture'
  • The future of sustainable architecture which can be applied to future projects
  • Different aspects of biomimicry in the context of architecture
