The eighth edition of the Independent Hotel Show took place on the 15th and 16th October at London Olympia with, once again, the BCFA as an industry partner. The BCFA also had a presence at the event, and, as well as meeting and greeting visiting and prospective members on our stand, the team took the opportunity to visit the 10 members also exhibiting at the show.
The show kicked off on Tuesday with a crowd of eager visitors waiting to enter to see the 350+ exhibiting hotel industry suppliers. There was a constant stream of visitors walking the aisles over both days and the overall feedback from exhibiting members was very positive as they reported enquiries from high quality visitors and decision makers.
A two centre Innovation and Hotel Vision seminar programme took place over the two show days and provided a very well received series of complimentary seminars which were quickly filled with enthusiastic people. There was also a live discussion on ‘The Conscious Bedroom’, where a panel reviewed the feasibility of the statement futuristic and boundary pushing Hotel Room feature at the show and discussed an accompanying research piece to provide insight on capitalising on the thoughtful guest. BCFA Members Axminster Carpets and Crosswater supplied product to the Conscious Bedroom feature.
The future redevelopment of Olympia means that for 2020, the show will relocate into the National Hall and run on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th October. This will undoubtedly give the show an opportunity to create a new look and have the benefit of natural light in this iconic Victorian location.
The BCFA took photos of exhibiting members at the event who included: Concept Contract, Ena Shaw, Forbes Group, Franklite, Harrison Spinks, Hypnos Beds, Linwood, Mattison, Relyon and Vogue Beds...
