BCFA Northern Dinner Review 2018

The BCFA’s fourth and ‘best so far’ Northern Dinner took place this year at the iconic Imperial War Museum in Manchester. Located on The Quays, and with the weather on our side, it was a unique waterfront destination for our guests to experience and enjoy!

The evening began with a bubbly drinks reception under the Harrier Jet, where guests had the chance to meet with their clients and network prior to being called for dinner. There was an enthusiastic and upbeat atmosphere in the room accompanied by Lauren Charlotte on Violin.

Everyone then began to take their seats in the main room, as BCFA Managing Director Jeremy Stein welcomed the guests followed by a short speech. A short film highlighting the strengths of design and manufacturing in the North was then played, with interviews showcasing how some of our Northern contributors feel about the future of design and manufacturing in the North. Thank you to Panaz, Skopos, Knightsbridge and The Sheffield Institute of Education for taking part. Click here to watch the short film

The food was served, and everyone tucked in to the delicious 3 course meal surrounded by ceiling high projected rolling images of Manchester.

Following dinner, live entertainment was provided by a dazzling troupe of ballroom/Latin dancers who stunned the audience with their magnificent performance-  it was great to see so much energy around the room! The dancers then gave an impromptu salsa class for forty of the audience, and worked through a step-by-step salsa routine, the dance floor instantly filled up as keen guests took their turn showing off their salsa skills!

The night continued with music from the resident DJ and the dance floor filled up once again as guests danced through the rest of the night!

This year, the BCFA also supported the Liv’s Trust charity, set up in memory of Manchester Arena victim Olivia Campbell-Hardy. Thank you to everyone who donated on the night, we raised £432!

Thank you to all BCFA members who attended and all their guests who made the evening one to remember! And a special thank you to our sponsors for the evening: AGUA FABRICS, EVANS TEXTILES, JOHNSON TILES & WATERBURY BATHROOM ACCESSORIES.

The Imperial War Museum proved so popular with guests that we may well be retuning here for the 2019 Northern Dinner.
