The BCFA/Design Insider visited Clerkenwell Design Week last week, and what a fantastic few days it was! The Design Insider team headed out to capture some footage for the CDW Highlights Video sponsored by BCFA Member Bisley.
The BCFA team popped by member showrooms/stands in the exhibitions halls to say hello and take some photos of some of the stunning products. There were copious amounts of bubbles, teas/coffees and nibbles across all the showrooms, which kept us all full of energy throughout the day.
Whilst going around, we also managed to stop by our latest members’ stand, Roger Lewis, who were showcasing some of their latest contemporary furniture. Roger Lewis have also recently launched a new website (www.rogerlewis.uk) during Clerkenwell, so it was a very busy but exciting time for them!
The showrooms and stands around Clerkenwell were busy, and the footfall picked up in the afternoon as talks and events began and many prepped for the fun-filled evening of parties ahead.

The Camira ‘Farm to Fabric’ concept was one of our favourites, as they attracted us to their showroom with the adorable sheep outside! We had to stop and “aww!”.
We also had some fun blending our own smoothies with a brief cycling session outside the Morgan Showroom! Here’s Mary, our Membership & Events Manager in action…
We were in awe at the latest Lincrusta Wallcovering Collection, a collaboration with wallpaper designer Karen Beauchamp. Lincrusta will be attending our Dublin Open Exhibition on the 13th June. Click here for more information about this collection.
Another stunning wallcovering was ‘The Asian Collection’ by Muraspec. We loved the detail and the colourful fish amongst the patterns! For more information on the collection, click here
Knightsbridge Furniture have been working closely with freelance designer Alys Bryan, who also helps us out at the BCFA with some marketing and social media. Alys has designed a new product, ‘Dizzi’, which was showcased on the Knightsbridge Stand. Congratulations Alys!
The new Bisley showroom is extremely spacious, we hosted a great event there a few weeks back for our CRM workshop. It was good to see so many people at the showroom admiring the new space.
A rather eye-catching sofa was a favourite of ours at the Orangebox Showroom, a lovely, retro colour combination.
Amtico Flooring had a really interesting way of showing their latest projects, with a polaroid wall.
Brintons launched their new Craigend Collection at Clerkenwell this year which was designed by BCFA member Timorous Beasties, a fantastic collaboration. The pop-up installation showcased some beautiful carpets draped around the space.
We were highly impressed with all the efforts put in for CDW2018 from our members and others in the area. The hospitality was very welcoming, and people were pleased to see us as we popped by.
