Panaz, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of contract fabrics for the hospitality, healthcare, and cruise sectors, has accelerated its commitment to becoming carbon neutral by installing solar panels at its UK headquarters.
The panels have recently been installed across the 90,000 ft2 building, which houses Panaz’s design studio, showroom, manufacturing facilities, warehousing, and operations teams, to enable the manufacturer to procure most of its energy from renewable sources.
Producing over 52,000 Watts of power in four weeks, the solar panels are the latest in a series of projects being implemented by Panaz to improve the environmental efficiency of its operations and minimise its carbon footprint.
This includes the recent installation of EV charging points across the exterior of the building and the ongoing transition to electric vehicles for the company’s fleet.
Rollie Attard, CEO at Panaz, said: “Since our inception in 1985, we have always cared about the environment and the impact of our business. As a technical innovator, we have continued to remain at the forefront of industry advancements to not only improve the environmental efficiency of our products and operations but ensure we play our part in protecting the future of the planet.
“It takes roughly 100 watts a day to run a single computer, so the significant investment we have made by installing solar panels at our UK headquarters will provide us with a renewable resource that we can continue to utilise as we expand our operations.”
As one of the leading suppliers of high-performance contract fabrics, Panaz is committed to continuously improving the sustainability of its operations across every area of the business. As a result, Panaz was the first company to pioneer low-water waste fabric printing, which is now the industry standard, and was also the first manufacturer to offer contract quality printable textiles made from entirely recycled plastic bottles.
